SETSC will form a SETSC Chapter for the Savannah, GA area in the upcoming months. SETSC has been in existence since 2002 and SETSC is one of Eight Cargo Security Councils across the United States that teams up with Law Enforcement and the Trucking, Logistics and Insurance Industry to combat Cargo Theft across the Southeast with our primary focus in the State of Georgia. SETSC just put on a one day Cargo Theft Training Class at Georgia Tech Campus (Innovation for Logistics) in Pooler, GA, which hosted around 70 attendees. SETSC will meet once a month in the Savannah Area to discuss the Cargo Theft Intelligence within the Industry and Law Enforcement. We have learned over the years that Information Sharing and Networking between the Private Sector and Law Enforcement has become a valuable tool in combating cargo theft.
The Southeastern Transportation Security Council provides comprehensive training on cargo theft to civilian and law enforcement members. Training is done by POST certified instructors, so sworn personnel can receive credit hours.
All members receive real-time intelligence and bi-weekly briefings on cargo theft activity in the Southeastern U.S. The Southeastern Transportation Security Council utilizes the GA Cargo Theft System which allows real-time alerts to reach its members.
Monthly meetings and other events hosted by the Southeastern Transportation Security Council allow industry, law enforcement, and government members to connect and network to fight cargo theft – together.
